14-Year-Old Girl Arrested After Joke Tweet To Airline

A 14-year-old Dutch girl was arrested a day after foolishly tweeting a terrorism joke at American Airlines. The arrest was confirmed by Rotterdam police.

The girl, Sarah, told American Airlines, "hello my name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye." American's Twitter account responded by promising to forward her information to the FBI. They were not joking, it seems.

Below, our original story on the exchange, featuring Sarah's very teenage-girl freakout.

Don't Tweet Menacing Things To Airlines, Like This Girl

Messing with companies on Twitter is fun, unless it involves sending an airline an ominous tweet that implies a future hijacking. That route of trolling is really, really dumb.

This morning, a girl named Sarah pretended she was going to do something to a plane and tweeted some magnificently stupid shit at American Airlines.

American Airlines replied, saying they took the tweet seriously, because of course they would. They can't ignore a threat just because it's coming from a big Demi Lovato fan. (Update: They've deleted the tweet, for some reason, but it's above.)

And then, Sarah freaked out.

She's still coping with a possible FBI investigation in her own way.

Teens.
